Lu Jiuyuan

Lu Jiuyuan, a native of Jinxi, also called Mr. Xiangshan, was a famous philosopher and educator of South Song Dynasty. His major ideas were reflected in The Complete Works of Xiangshan. One famous anecdote of him is called “Goose Lake Debate”, in which he had a debate on the Doctrine of Li (or which means reasoning, the prevailing philosophy of the time) with Zhuxi who was another well-known philosopher of the time.
