The gallery is composed of two themes: the footprints of history and the glimpse of civilization.
Fuzhou enjoys the reputation of “the granary of the east Jiangxi”. Ever since the primitive times, our forefather lived here and created a prosperous farming culture and bronze culture.
Le Jia Zhai village relics, discovered in 1963, dates back to the later period Neolithic Times to Shang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty (1600BC -256BC). The stone tools unearthed indicate that the Fuzhou began its agriculture about five to six thousand years ago.
Luo Jia Zhai village relics, discovered in 1975, dates back to the Shang and Zhou Dynasty(1600BC to 256BC)to the Spring and Autumn Period(779BC to 221BC). The unearthed bronze and iron tools indicate that Fuzhou had developed into Bronze Culture more than three thousand years ago.
The weapons on display are bronze arrows and spears.
Fuzhou was the resident of southern nationalities in ancient times and was under the sovereignty of different states during the Warring states period. In Han Dynasty (201BC), the first county was established in Nancheng, and in 96AD, Linru County was established, and named after the two rivers: Lin river and Ru river. In 257AD, Linru country developed into Linchuan magistrate and in 589AD changed its name into Fuzhou.
